Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief.

Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk Humbly, now.

You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.

-The Talmud

Our mission is simple: fight hunger with fruit from your yard.

2020 has created food insecurity for so many. Part of the solution already exists in your yard! The San Fernando Valley is 260 square miles of historic fruit tree habitat. In 1841 the Valley's first orange groves were planted, and today most residential properties have inherited these original trees still producing delicious fruit. Driving around the Valley, how many orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees have you passed? Everywhere we look, we see trees filled with fruit just sitting up there. Don't let that fruit rot - feed the community with it! We are a group of independent volunteers who believe that time and energy is best spent building and serving community...and we want to pick your fruit!

About the Founder

Karen Klein is a Valley Girl and CSUN Alumna who wants every 818 orange to feed someone hungry! Her interest in growing food was sparked growing up amidst the natural abundance of the San Fernando Valley. As she grew, so did her frustration with seeing so much unpicked fruit rotting on trees! Karen has spent the better part of the past 10 years consulting for diverse non-profit organizations, managing a wide range of community centered initiatives. Her passion for community service and fascination with agriculture were fused together through her participation in the Adamah at Home program from Hazon, the largest faith-based environmental program in the United States. Now she's on a mission to not let any fruit go to waste!
